We were happy with the five points but there are a few things to work on. Congratulations to Rob on his 200th appearance, it's a fantastic achievement and credit to some of the young blokes who came through. I think we kept at it, we kept knocking on the door and it started to open at the end of the half. They are a good team and unbeaten in six games. They had a point to prove, they were never going to go away but we are happy with a bonus-point win in the end.

I've got to take it in and reflect on it. A special day with the lead up to it and coming out with my little one was special. It was great to be able to do it at home in front of our supporters, it was great. I thought the first half was really good and we took it to them. We are disappointed we didn't kick on but five points from tough opposition is good.

Five points at home, it's hard to not be happy. It was a bit scrappy at times but we're happy. It was tough for us. We always felt in control but we needed to dig deep. It was nice to finish off with the five points. We want to win every game and we'll move onto next week.

It would have been a travesty if they hadn't got a bonus-point after that first-half display. With a young team there was plenty of courage. It was scrappy against Benetton but they found a way, it was the same tonight.

Three wins from three. Work ons? Yes, plenty. Young players into the side, getting experience and getting used to wining. The crowd will be going home happy. Dan McFarland won't give too much away but he will want to tidy things up coming into the bigger matches ahead.

Ulster will have been disappointed with certain aspects of their game but they managed the game very well. Nathan Doak was the dominant figure in terms of the scores but his all-round game has been good. He is my player of the match.

They kept everyone sweating, but Ulster secure the win and it's maximum points from their first three games.

    Job done.

And the conversion from Doak is good!

That's his final act as Dave Shanahan comes on for the final minute.

Cometh the hour, cometh the Doak!

The young scrum-half gets his second try of the game and it's massive as it scores the bonus-point.

With help from Sean Reidy, the 19-year-old spins and swivels over the line before touching down. Superb stuff.

Ulster are camped on the Benetton line with three minutes to go but just can't find that crucial gap.

Sean Reidy is inches away from securing the bonus-point as he stretches out an arm, but he comes up just short.

However Ulster win the penalty and back to the corner we go.

    Ulster 21-8 Benetton

After some breathtaking play in the first-half this has turned into a real dogged affair.

It feels like the majority of the half has been in a scrum.

    Seven to play.

A group of fans in front of us have been chanting the word 'knock-on' over and over again to the tune of La Marseillaise every time someone knocks it on.

You'd think 72 minutes into a game they'd have become less enthusiastic, but oh no. If anything it's louder.

  19. More expansive game neededpublished at 21:18 BST 8 October 2021

Now Ulster are back to a full complement hopefully rather than that narrow tight ball-carrying game they have been playing they can start to expand how they are playing and drag this Benetton team across the pitch in the final 10 minutes.
