It was a bad day for Brits on Centre Court as both Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu went out.
Murray was beaten by John Isner in the final game on the court after Raducanu lost to Caroline Garcia in straight sets.
However, British number one Cameron Norrie fought back to beat Jaume Munar in five sets to reach the third round.
Ninth seed Norrie will next play American Steve Johnson, who knocked out Britain's Ryan Peniston 6-3 6-2 6-4.
Third seed Casper Ruud was stunned by Frenchman Ugo Humbert while defending champion Novak Djokovic advanced with ease.
Estonia's Anett Kontaveit became the highest seed to be knocked out of Wimbledon so far as she was beaten in straight sets by German Jule Niemeier.
Garbine Muguruzaalso made an early exit - the Spanish ninth seed, who won the title in 2017, was beaten 6-4 6-0 by Belgium's Greet Minnen.
Here's some of that classy on-court interview from John Isner a few moments ago...

Some lovely comments from John Isner after his win: "It is no secret I am not a better player than Murray, I may have just been a little better than him today. It was an incredible honour to play him.
"I need to relish these moments, this was one of the biggest wins of my career. To play as well as I did against one of the greatest players ever is a huge accomplishment for me.
"He is a massive inspiration for us in the locker room and we are lucky to still have him around. I had an incredible serving day and I needed every bit of it to beat him.
"This be at the very top for me."

Andy Murray waves goodbye as he's cheered off Centre Court by the crowd.
What a rollercoaster, but it ultimately ends in a superb victory for John Isner, who gets a few laughs from the crowd for his honest assessment of how he managed to withstand a Murray fightback.
"I served," he says. He's not wrong.

A huge amount of power from Isner but you forget the touch he has developed over the years.

John Isner is generous in his praise for Andy Murray. A gracious winner.

Such an impressive performance by Isner. They had played eight times before and Isner had never beaten Andy Murray.

That was a tennis masterclass by John Isner. Andy Murray should be proud of himself for the effort he put in. He asked the questions but Isner had all the answers.

Murray 4-6 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 Isner
Andy Murray gets this one back, but John Isner is already striding towards the net and he is equal to the Scot's backhand to carefully prod a volley into the space left behind.
That's it! Isner gets his first win against Murray at the ninth attempt!

John Isner fires down another huge ace, his 36th of the match, and brings up three match points.

A few mind games from Andy Murray? He slows down John Isner by asking the umpire to move their screen - a bit of reflection coming his way there... it doesn't faze the American. Bosh. 15-0. And again. 30-0.
Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV
Murray has done what he can, holding serve. It is never easing serving a match out. If you'd want one server to try and finish the job I think Isner would be near the top of the list.

Andy Murray holds and will force John Isner to try and serve for the match.

A big response from Murray. He fights back to 30-15 with pure power and determination.
Then, somehow, the Scot takes all the pace off the ball with the deftest of drop shots from deep. Gentle, like he's carrying a puppy. Just delightful.
