BBC Sport
Here is Rafael Nadal, as he chats after his win: "I think I continued in a positive way. Until the end where I played a bad game. I played a good match against a difficult opponent and I wish him all the best.
"In a personal way, for me to be able to be in quarter-finals after three years it's amazing for me so very, very happy."
On playing Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals: "Every match is different. He is playing well and having a very good year including a first Masters 1000 title, against me by the way, but we will be in the quarter-final of Wimbledon, so what will I expect."
On the Centenary and the Parade of Champions: "Yesterday was a beautiful thing sharing court with legends of our sport. Centre Court for 100 years is something very special."

Van de Zandschulp 4-6 2-6 6-7 (6-8) Nadal
Naomi Cavaday
BBC Sport tennis commentator on Radio 5 Live
On the whole it was a very strong performance but there were some uncharacteristic errors in that third set.
But Nadal will be relieved to get that done in straight sets - a big fist bump to the crowd and I think he realises the challenge he was facing there.
Sock/Gauff 6-3 6-4 Cornet/Roger-Vasselin
And we've got another result as American pair Jack Sock and Coco Gauff have eased past wildcards Alize Cornet and Edouard Roger-Vasselin on court two.

In the end Nadal took the short route against the man with the long name.
And he beats the roof.
Van de Zandschulp 4-6 2-6 6-7 (6-8) Nadal
Van de Zandschulp's first serve is out and the Dutchman then misses with an overhead smash. Nadal leaps in the air and jumps into the quarter-finals.
A great Nadal serve is returned into the net. We have a Hawk-Eye check, but it goes Nadal's way and that's match point number four, 7-6.
That's three match points that have come and gone for Nadal. Van de Zandschulp is living dangerously as he finds the line before Nadal sends it out. 6-6. Van de Zandschulp clinging on.
Van de Zandschulp saves the second match point finding the line, but now Nadal serves for the match, 6-5.
Nadal goes down the line but can only net, 6-4 Nadal.
Van de Zandschulp goes for broke, but just misses a swinging forehand. Nadal 6-3, three match points.
Nadal with a volley at the net. No. Into the net and Van de Zandschulp claws one point back, but the Spaniard still leads 5-3.

That is going to be worth more than one point.

Both players earn a standing ovation for that ridiculous point that, at one point, had the entire court laughing.
Van de Zandschulp goes long, 5-2 Nadal, two away.
