Disappointing that Mainoo did not make it. Midfield will need a big step-up. Would have preferred Cunha instead of Mount. If we see 100% effort and the right attitude, it's possible. 100% support for Carrick no matter what.

  2. Man Utd's last four Premier League resultspublished at 11:54 GMT

Chelsea v Manchester United (12:30 GMT)

Manchester United's last four Premier League results don't make for pretty reading at all. Just the three points.

Throw in a 4-1 loss away at Como in the Champions League, too.

  3. 'Expect tough, and intense game'published at 11:52 GMT

Chelsea v Manchester United (12:30 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso, speaking to TNT Sports: "We are back in Premier League mode, so it is the most important.

"For sure, today is a big one. We need a good game and a good performance."

On Estevao starting: "Because he is ready, because he has been preparing and training well. Today he is needed, and we hope he enjoys his game and that he can have a good impact."

On whether Morgan Rogers will be the main centre forward: "Too early to tell, so we will see. It could, but we have options."

On Jordan Henderson's exclusion: "He is ill, no injury, but he was not feeling well yesterday, and today he had a fever."

On Man Utd: "We expect a tough game, and intense game against United. They are a big team and good players, so we will need our best."

As a Utd fan, 3-0 Chelsea sadly.

    Dodd, Yorkshire

As a Liverpool fan, I want United to win today to keep Carrick in post for when we play them in three weeks as I'm confident we could take three points. Last thing we need is the new manager bounce.

  5. 'No issues' between Carrick and Fernandespublished at 11:48 GMT

Chelsea v Manchester United (12:30 GMT)

It was a huge call from Manchester United boss Michael Carrick to drop captain Bruno Fernandes in the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

But the two have held clear the air talks and he is back in the starting XI this afternoon.

When the Manchester United squad arrived a few of the players came straight out and had a look at the pitch.

Matheus Cunha wandered on with fellow Brazilian Andrey Santos and started pointing to the end where he scored the winner last season, as if to say 'this is what I did'.

It was a superb finish from a Bruno Fernandes cut back.

What United - and Michael Carrick - would give for a repeat of that today.

  7. Henderson is out through illnesspublished at 11:43 GMT

Chelsea are beset with injuries before this one but there is the additional problem that Jordan Henderson is a surprise absentee through illness.

Romeo Lavia comes into his place in midfield after his first 90 minutes since joining Chelsea in the penalty shootout defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday.

Joao Pedro, Emiliano Martinez, Maxence Lacroix, Jorrel Hato, Reece James, Jamie Gittens and Aaron Anselmino are also out.

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think we have got a good balance within the group with that. We have had a tough time results wise, but the boys are going into this game with quite a clear mind and we know what to do.

"More about us, and what we bring to the game ourselves. We can't control what they bring to the game. We have got to be the best version of us, if we're close to that, we will have a good chance of winning the game."

  10. 'Fernandes cannot be the captain'published at 11:36 GMT

It is a football club that isn't united in their process.

We saw back in the day, where Jaap Stam released his book, and it was 72 hours later he was out of the door. There was one man in charge and that was Sir Alex Ferguson.

Managers have less power in a football club now because of the way they have been set up. You wonder who is going to be making the decisions at Manchester United.

If I am the manager of a football club, you have got to act with integrity.

Your manager and captain are normally pretty in sync.

For me, Bruno Fernandes cannot be the captain of the football club.

It's a warm, sunny day in west London for Chelsea versus Manchester United.

This is Chelsea's last home game before Remembrance Sunday, so the Blues will pay tribute to former players who lost their lives in the two World Wars in the matchday programme.

There will also be a pre-match Remembrance tribute, with Chelsea Pensioners from the Royal Hospital Chelsea leading out the teams and a display organised by fan group We Are The Shed.

Supporters have been invited to take their seats early for the tributes.

Right then, guys. Let's get right into it.

Have Manchester United made the correct decision in giving Michael Carrick a chance to turn his fortunes around or should he have been shown the door last week?

  14. Back to the future for Carrickpublished at 11:27 GMT

Chelsea v Manchester United (12:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at Stamford Bridge

Bruno Fernandes' return to the Manchester United starting line-up was virtually certain.

However, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo getting picked is also a good move.

It hints at a formation that was denied to head coach Michael Carrick at the start of the season, when Amad Diallo was ruled out through injury.

With Benjamin Sesko injured, it is the front four from last term, with Carlos Baleba and Andrey Santos paired in midfield behind.

It worked last season. Carrick needs it to work today.

  15. The Premier League tablepublished at 11:25 GMT

It's all square at the top again after Manchester City tasted defeat for the first time this season away at Aston Villa last week.

This is set to look completely different after the eight games we have today.

The Brazilian winger comes in alongside defenders Levi Colwill and Marco Palestra, while Cole Palmer returns after suspension.

Malo Gusto and Danny Welbeck drop to the bench, Maxence Lacroix is out with a hamstring injury suffered at Anfield and Jordan Henderson is a surprise absentee from the squad.

Chelsea: Penders; Acheampong, Fofana, Colwill, Palestra; Caicedo, Lavia; Estevao, Palmer, Neto; Rogers.

Subs: Sharman-Lowe, Barco, Welbeck, Emegha, Quenda, Gusto, Chavarria, Nicoll-Jazuli, Subuloye.

    Chelsea lineup

Ayden Heaven, Mason Mount and Youri Tielemens have to settle for a place among the substitutes, while Kobbie Mainoo is also on the bench after missing United last four games through injury.

Subs: Darlow, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Mount, Zirkzee, Tielemens, Heaven, Lacey, Mainoo.
