Hundreds attend vigil for Israel and Gaza
BBCHundreds attended a vigil in Guernsey for those who have died in Gaza and Israel.
The candlelit vigil was held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, St Peter Port, on Thursday evening.
The multi-faith congregation prayed for an end to conflict in the region.
Anglican Dean of Guernsey, the Very Reverend Tim Barker, said it "seemed important to hold this opportunity for people of Guernsey".
He added: "We're seeing an unfolding human tragedy in Israel and now in Gaza and it feels so far away in one way and so close in other ways because of those human connections and what we're seeing in the media."
Princess Elizabeth hospital lead chaplain the Reverend Linda Le Vasseur said: "It's about peace and coming together."
