Long delays as M5 closed after lorry overturns

There are long delays on the M5 as the motorway is shut in one direction due to an overturned lorry.

National Highways said all three lanes were closed on the northbound carriageway at the Huntworth Bridge at Bridgwater in Somerset, just after junction 24.

The statement added that emergency services and recovery vehicles were on the scene and there had been "no injuries in the incident".

The agency said drivers were facing nine miles (14.5km) of traffic on the approach and vehicles caught within the closure were being released. It added there were also delays on the southbound carriageway and on the A38 in Bridgwater.
