Welsh rock band Feeder has been announced as one of the main musical performers at a Shropshire music festival.

Loopfest is happening in Shrewsbury from 29 April to 2 May 2027, and is expanding into the town's Quarry park - accommodating bigger artists as well as comedy performances.

The move comes as organisers say the 2026 event, held earlier this year, was "record-breaking", seeing about 250 acts performing across 40 venues, including pubs and community spaces.

Feeder, formed in Newport in 1994, are best known for songs like Buck Rogers, Feeling a Moment and Just the Way I'm Feeling.

The band will play in the Quarry on 2 May, but organisers said music events would also still take place at independent venues across the town.

Also announced for 30 April are Birmingham rock band Ocean Colour Scene, supported by Sleeper.

Organisers of Loopfest, whose name comes from the loop of the River Severn that marks out Shrewsbury town centre, said more artist and event announcements were to come.

Just before the festival this year, organisers opened a flagship venue in Shrewsbury, inside a former mini golf building in Castle Foregate.

Jamie Smith, director of Loopfest, said any money raised from the 2026 event or the venue would go back into supporting grassroots artists and young people getting into the music industry.
