London's NYE firework tickets on sale - how to buy
Getty ImagesThe first batch of tickets for London's New Year's Eve fireworks display go on sale at midday, with about 100,000 people expected to attend the annual event on the banks of the River Thames.
The display will begin after Big Ben strikes midnight, with fireworks and light projections illuminating the sky around the London Eye.
Ticket prices for Londoners will remain at £20 or £35, depending on the viewing area. For people living outside the capital, tickets will cost £40 or £55.
City Hall warned that only tickets bought from the authorised outlet Ticketmaster will be accepted. A smaller final batch of tickets will be released later in the year.
The event is being organised by City Hall with support from the Met Police, Transport for London (TfL), councils and emergency services.
City Hall said the show would reflect on the year, and end with the a traditional sing-along of of Auld Lang Syne.
Getty ImagesMayor of London Lord Sadiq Khan said: "Nowhere in the world brings in the new year like London.
"Every year our unique display of fireworks, lighting and music showcases the very best of the capital, with around 100,000 people lining the Thames and millions more watching around the world.
"Demand for tickets is always high, so I encourage anyone hoping to attend to buy theirs as soon as possible to avoid missing out."
