A woman who was part of an organised crime group that trafficked women into the country for prostitution has been jailed.

Leicestershire Police said Wai Sin,was part of a group that moved victims from brothel to brothel - with a premises in Leicester "one hub on the carousel".

The force said the "operation was like a conveyor belt, delivering a steady stream of women to Leicester to have sex with men for money".

The 63-year-old, from Leicester, was sentenced to five years and four months in prison at Leicester Crown Court on Thursday.

She was also handed a slavery and trafficking prevention order for seven years, having pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to arrange or facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, control prostitution for gain and transferring criminal property.

A police operation took place at an address in south Leicester in January, the force said, where Wai Sin was arrested and several mobile phones recovered.

Following an examination of the devices, officers said they found evidence of the phones being used to advertise women for sexual services on two websites.

'Deliberate and exploitative'

The adverts contained details of services provided at the premises and when officers attended they found large amounts of sexual paraphernalia.

Between May 2025 and January this year, 27 women were trafficked through the business, the force said.

Once Sin had the money in her account, a "significant amount" was transferred to accounts in China.

The defendant operated several bank accounts, police said, with more than £135,000 banked May 2025 and January 2026.

Det Con Natasha Panchal said: "This was a deliberate and exploitative operation run for profit, in which women were treated as commodities.

"It was clear during the investigation that Sin was part of a network of people who exploited women for their own financial gain.

"Up to 11 men would visit the premises throughout the day and the victims were made to work long days.

"Prior to the arrival of each victim, the defendant would advertise them for sexual services on two websites. More than 24 adverts were identified and all were taken out with one of Sin's two telephone numbers as the point of contact.

"The women they exploited were vulnerable and they took advantage of that for their own gain."
