Amin Belechguer, from London, has been jailed for four years

A motorcyclist who filmed himself riding at 189mph (304km/h) and goading police into high-speed pursuits has been jailed.

Amin Belechguer, of Poynders Gardens in Clapham, London, was sentenced to four years at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday after pleading guilty to 22 counts of dangerous driving.

Kent Police said Belechguer was spotted riding a Kawasaki Ninja H2R motorcycle along the A20 Ashford Road towards Maidstone without a registration plate on 27 June 2025.

Police officers were en route to a separate incident with lights and sirens activated when the 29-year-old pulled in front of them and "began slowing and waved at the officers to goad them into a pursuit".

The force said they followed him for a short distance, during which time he travelled at over 130mph (209.21km/h) on a single carriageway and crossed over solid white lines into oncoming traffic on the blind brow of a hill.

They said they called for backup after stopping the pursuit because of safety concerns.

When he was forced to stop by a stinger, Belechguer tried to evade capture by running into hedges at the roadside.

Footage recovered from his phone and GoPro camera revealed that, from 7 July 2024, Belechguer had filmed himself riding in Kent, London and Essex, at top speeds of 189mph (304.16kmh).

This footage also showed him performing dangerous manoeuvres, failing to stop at red lights, and riding on a pavement and pedestrian crossing.

Belechguer will face a 10-year driving ban and his bike was also confiscated, police said.

PC Daniel Goodman said: "Not only did Belechguer drive at triple the speed limit in some instances, but he demonstrated little regard of basic road safety when he failed to adhere to road markings, signage, and traffic lights.

"Throughout the investigation, Belechguer showed no remorse for the fact he placed his life and the lives of other road users at risk on numerous occasions."
