The feline was trapped between a brick wall and a shed, firefighters say

Firefighters have come to the rescue of a cat that was trapped for up to three days.

The black and white moggy had become stuck between a wall and a shed in Southsea, Hampshire, and could not climb out due to the 10ft (3m) drop.

Residents at the property on Victoria Road North alerted the emergency services at around 10:00 BST on Friday.

A crew from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service successfully retrieved the feline.

Unsure of who owned the cat, they left the animal in the care of the residents of the property who had made the initial call.
