Three people have been charged after a man was wounded in a fight involving knives in Nottingham.

Police were called to Union Road after a man suffered a slash wound to his hand at about 23:15 BST on Saturday.

Three suspects were quickly located in a car being driven along Hartley Road, Radford, and were arrested by officers.

Two men aged 21 and 18, both from Nottingham, and a 17-year-old male, have all been charged with wounding with intent.

They are also charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

Detectives believe there could have been a number of witnesses to the incident, due to its location, and would like to hear from anyone with information or footage.

Det Sgt Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We believe there will be other witnesses to this incident who have not yet spoken to police.

"There is a large student accommodation complex close by and with it being a Saturday night there may have been a number of people out and about."
