The death of a man whose body was found in a public toilet is not being treated as suspicious by police.

Wiltshire Police was called by ambulance crews to Market Place in Salisbury just before 04:00 BST.

A spokesman said the 27-year-old man, who lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene and officers are in the process of telling his family.

Several businesses in the area were closed while detectives carried out their inquiries.

The force spokesman appealed for anyone who had used the toilets between 22:30 and 04:00, or was in the Market Square area between these times, to contact police.
