The Walk of Stars at Market Square in Salisbury will celebrate the work of local people

A city's version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame will honour people who have helped in the community.

Nominations are open for Salisbury's first Walk of Stars, which will be revealed in an event on 24 November at Market Square.

Organisers said the plan is to celebrate "the incredible contributions and achievements of its local heroes".

Nominations are open until 5 November for people in Salisbury and south Wiltshire.

Categories include volunteer, NHS hero, supporting wellbeing, lifetime achievement, teacher/teaching assistant and environmental campaigner.

Ellie Burke from Experience Salisbury, which is helping to organise the event said: "It's an honour to shine a spotlight on those who make Salisbury such a vibrant and wonderful place to live."

The opening event in November will include music and an opportunity to hear from some of the city's stars in person.
