Moat Primary School, Lisnaskea, closes after iPads stolen
BBCA primary school in County Fermanagh has been closed for a day after about 50 iPads were stolen in a weekend break-in.
Police said they were alerted to suspicious activity at Moat Primary School in Lisnaskea at about 22:00 GMT on Sunday.
The school's principal said that they planned to reopen on Tuesday.
Ulster Unionist councillor Victor Warrington said the break-in was "disgraceful".
He said he understood new iPads purchased by the parent teacher association, along with older ones, had been stolen.
"To break in and steal children's learning aids and create significant damage is a disgraceful act of criminality," he said.
"We want our children to get the best opportunities from their educational experience, instead we have here some of the worst type of actions from people."
Police said the school had also been ransacked.
"A full investigation is now under way and I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact detectives in Enniskillen," Det Insp Trevor Stevenson said.
